“Abba, Father, he cried out, everything is possible for you. Please take this cup of suffering away from me. Yet I want your will to be done, not mine…When He returned the third time to pray, he said to his disciples, Go ahead and sleep. Have your rest, But, no-the time has come. The Son of Man is betrayed into the hands of sinners. ” Mark 14:36-41
Title: Any Disruptive moments in your life?
We can see above that Jesus prays and does pray in the repetition of three times. The entire John 17 is devoted to Jesus praying for himself. The chapter teaches us that the battlefield is set. The world and its thinking follows Satan’s agenda and Satan is the avowed enemy of Jesus and his followers. So guess what? Hatred, persecutions, lusts for foods, sex and pride, and the desires “I deserved it” or I need it” will attack us daily. These thoughts are all untrue!
In Jesus’ prayers, He did not ask God to take us out the world but to use us in the world. We are called to be the salt and light of the world, and we are to do the work that God has sent us to do. John 17:18 says, ”Just as you sent me into the world, I am sending them into the world.
Read the Word daily, pray and then apply it. It has a purifying effect on our minds and hearts, points out sin, motivates us to confess, renews the right relationship with Christ and guides us back to the right path.
“Praise the Lord; praise God our Savior! For each day he carries us in his arms” Psalms 68:19
