R U Thirsty? Is 64 ozs enough?

THE WORD FOR THE WEEK

Title: R U Thirsty? Is 64 ozs enough? 6/11/2017

“Is anyone thirsty? Come and drink even if you have no money! …Why spend your money on food that does not give you strength? Why pay for food that does you no good? Come to me with your ears wide open, Listen to me and you will find life, I will make an everlasting covenant with you…give you all the unfailing love…Seek the Lord while you can find Him, Call on Him while He is near…God sends out His WORD and it will accomplish all He sent it to do…” Isaiah 55:1-11 (NLT)

The Word for the Week comes from the Book of Isaiah, Chapter 55. Isaiah is inviting the people to accept the Lord. In this passage God invites everyone to participate. His offer is to simply quench the thirst of His people. If you are not His people, then your condition may still be thirsty. He is convincing them that He and He alone can satisfy them and fulfill all their desires permanently and forever. You probably have figured out I am speaking of the Lord soothing your soul, your heart and your mind. After all, this physical body will die but the spiritual soul lives forever.

Food cost money and last a short time, but the Lord offers free nourishment that last and feeds us eternally. But the Word also reminds us we have a responsibility too. Don’t wait until you have drifted so far off your God-given path or goal. God may come to judge the earth before you decide to turn and seek Him. He is near. The Word for the Week that you are holding in your hand is near. It’s speaking the truth to you right now. We are to come, listen, seek the Lord and call on God with our mouths. We are foolish to think we can fit God into our mold-to make plans and purposes-without hearing from Him. To hear, there must be a deep relationship. Judas Ischariot, one of Jesus’ disciples thought he had a relationship, but you know how his life ended. Colossians 3:12 tells us how to live a Christian life and I strive for these daily for I know I am not perfect and you probably are not either.

But, Paul writes in this chapter and tells us 4 truths to strive toward. He says “Since God chose you to be His holy people he loves (and extends grace to us sinners), you must clothe yourself with tenderhearted mercy (don’t think about yourself being offended all the time but think of others who offended you and offer grace); humility (submit under God then you will submit to others); gentleness (flee anger and malice); and long

suffering (Be patient and wait!). Make allowance for others fault and forgive anyone who offends you. Wow! OK Lord.

We, at MED-LIFE-FIT encourage you to continue in your faith. We are here for YOU!

Attending GROUP is required please and is TUES or SAT this week
