The Weekly Word with Dr. Dowe: Can These Bones Live?

“The bones have become old, dry bones-all hope is gone. The nation is finished…Therefore, prophesy to them and say…This is what the Sovereign Lord says: O my people…you will rise again…Then, I will bring you back…and when this happens, O my people, you will know that I am the Lord. I will put my Spirit in you.”
Ezekiel 37:11-14
Ezekiel was a prophet that reminded the people about their nation and their social responsibilities. The people listened to him with curiosity and then lived as they pleased. However, Ezekiel had a message as written in the scripture above that could not be ignored. God was sending a message of forgiveness that could no longer be ignored. Ezekiel 36:22-26 says, “I will give you a new heart and a new spirit, I will take away your stubborn heart and give you a tender, responsive heart that you will want to follow my decrees and regulations written in my Holy Word.” The Lord says. “I will increase you but also your source of resources. This is done not because you deserve it but done to protect my Holy Name, and everyone will know that I am the Lord.”
God promises to restore not only physically but spiritually. He promises that through “new bodies” that “new hearts” will want to follow Him.
