The Weekly Word with Dr. Dowe: Don't Give Up!
“The Lord God placed the man in the Garden of Eden to tend and watch over it. But the Lord God warned him, You may freely eat the fruit of every tree in the garden but DO NOT eat of the tree of Knowledge of good and evil…” - Genesis 2:15-16 (NLT Verson)

God wants a meaning relationship with you similarly to the relationship God had with Adam and Eve written in Genesis. In fact, the first book in the bible (Genesis) was written to express the creation of where we will live, what we will do and express God’s sincere desire to have a relationship with the people He created.
The only job Adam and Eve had before sin was to keep their eyes on God. Yet, they were disobedient. They did not have many jobs like we do today like kids, spouses, workplace drama, etc. etc. God desires to have a people set apart to worship him. In Genesis, we read about folks like Adam, Eve, Abraham, Isaac, Sarah and Joseph. All of these had faults. Yet, God blessed them a lot and gave them authorities. Joseph became the second in charge of his entire country through the gift of dreaming. That tells me, with all our faults, he will bless you too! Having said that, we all have choices and with every choice, good or bad, there are consequences. Someone great once said “There is Relationship, Responsibility and Restriction”. Saying you believe in God is not enough. Having a Relationship is better and making wise choices means you have to say no most times in a world that lives outside of a relationship with God. Scary huh? Does your nature and character allow you to make difficult choices easily? Or, Do you stress out? All I can tell you is read Psalms 8. Don’t let stuff ruffle your feathers. If you believe, “God has elevated you to make you a little lower than God, crowned you with glory and honor” and made you to elevate to operate from heavenly places through Christ Jesus (Psalms 8:5 and Ephesians 2:6). God has incredible wealth, grace and kindness waitin
