The Weekly Word with Dr. Dowe: Is your FAITH viable enough to hold to a dream deferred?

But my servant Caleb has a different attitude than the others have. He has remained loyal to me, so I will bring him into the land he explored. His descendants will possess their full share of that land. Now turn around…and don’t go toward the Land of Canaan…tomorrow you must set out for the wilderness in the direction of the Red Sea.

Numbers 14:24-25 (NLT)

Let’s be real! It’s hard waiting for a dream and hard to follow all God’s commands while waiting. For example, we may follow as long as it agrees with our plan but change when it looks too harsh. We may think almost is close enough. Or, cursing one time, or smoking one more...or buying one more…or eating one piece… or sleeping again with or ( I’ll let you fill in the blanks)….but with GOD our spiritual lives require more. God is looking for those who wholeheartedly follow instructions & trust in him. Why? Our God is intentional and precise. He has so many promises in His Holy Word that we are made complete with all the fullness of life and power that comes from God! Dream Big!

In the story above, Caleb had a ruthless Trust in God and was hugely rewarded for his obedience. But due to the sins of one generation his reward was deferred 40 years so God sent them out to the wilderness instead of the promise land. The fulfillment of Caleb’s land and spiritual inheritance in the Promised Land of milk and honey is not evident until Caleb is 85 years old and is written in Joshua 14:6-14. Is your faith viable enough to last over 40 years while your dream is put on hold? I can truly say it is worth the wait. I was 43 years old graduating from medical residency and it has taken me over 20 years to own a successful medical practice and trusting the best is yet to come!

At Med-Life-Fit, we have faithfully displayed the WORD FOR THE DAY weekly and God has blessed this practice in a time where a solo practice is unthinkable. Our aim is to help you focus on your inner spiritual self so you can evaluate your current spiritual discipline. As a result, this blessing can be a cornerstone, we hope, to help change your Lifestyle and decrease Spiritual Heart Disease which contributes to the hub of chronic diseases.
