The Weekly Word with Dr. Dowe: No Worries!

Don’t worry about these things, saying, ‘What will we eat? What will we drink? What will we wear? These things dominate the thoughts of unbelievers, but your Heavenly Father already knows all your needs. Seek the Kingdom of God above all else, live right and He will give you everything you need.Matthew 6:31-33 (NLT)

God’s Kingdom is structured differently from worldly organizations. In God’s kingdom, power authority and wealth is unimportant. Kingdom people seek things like self-sacrifice, humbleness, equal rights and justices for all, easy to forgive and to show mercy, work for peace and anxious to work along the side of others for the common good. These types of attitudes represent a code of ethics and standard of conduct that God can use in the building of His Kingdom and will bless you for it.

We find Matthew writing primarily to the Jews at this time of 60-65 years AD. Jews during that time were still awaiting the Old Testament Prophetic Messiah. Matthew writings were to confirm that Jesus was King and Messiah and that the Kingdom is near and as believers has arrived in our hearts. We find in Matthew 6 that these 2 words “Don’t worry” appears 3 times in this one chapter (v. 25, 31 34).

We all can look back and marvel at the times God has stepped in, saved us, protected and guided us, gave us good health, took care of our kids, our parents, provided a means of production to earn a way of living, fed us and kept us healthy free from death. God knows that worry causes diseases and poor health, decreases our productivity, makes interactions with others negative and increases our distrust in God’s ability to give you everything you need. This makes the Enemy of God, the destroyer and adversary happy when we worry! God wants us to see his vision of the world He made. A ‘good eye’ is one that is fixed on God and God fixed on us. Self-serving desires, interests and goals makes the vison cloudy and we worry. Remember, worry immobilizes and concern moves you to action.

At Med-Life-Fit we encourage you to continue to work your plan, don’t worry but be concerned if you have fallen off. Come on back and work your plan. At Med-Life-Fit, our aim is to help you focus on your inner spiritual self so you can evaluate your current spiritual discipline. This blessing can be a cornerstone to change your Health and Lifestyle.

Be well, be blessed,
